Red Riding is an online magazine focusing on sharing the stories of Yorkshire’s people’s history, often with a contemporary significance.
Our aim is to provide a space for Yorkshire-based citizen journalism and historical research and to shine a modern light on the county’s red roots.

The team

Zoe Cussen – Editor
Zoe is a History and Politics graduate from and currently living in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. Her key areas of interest revolve around the intersections of social movements, the politics of work, 1980s Britain, and the legacies of Thatcherism.

Danny Tye – Editor, Graphic Designer
Danny is a Politics and Spanish graduate from and currently living in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. They’re interested in anti-hegemonic cultural resistance, Marxist historiography, and critique of neoliberalism.

James Fishwick – Editor
James is a History graduate from and currently living near Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. His key interests are capitalist interaction in education, democratic economies and the future of work, and municipal socialism.
